Rangnick talks about Elanga
Under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, Elanga was given the first starting position for United. Since Ralf Rangnick arrived in November, this young star has been improving.
The Swede has made 20 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring four goals.
For those performances, he was rewarded with his first national team call-up.
Last night, in the match between Sweden and the Czech Republic in the play-off round of the World Cup 2022, Elanga was featured in extra time.
Thereby, he officially made his debut for the national team at the age of 19.
Before that, Robin Quaison scored in the 110th minute to bring the victory for Sweden.
The yellow shirt team will face Poland in the play-off final to win tickets to Qatar. Poland has the advantage of not having to play in the semi-finals due to FIFA’s ban against Russia.
In this match, the old general Zlatan Ibrahimovich was not allowed to play because of the suspension, but there were days of training with the young star of MU.
Notably, Zlatan played alongside Anthony’s father Joseph Elanga when both played for Malmo early in their careers.
At the age of 40, Zlatan is no stranger to playing with the children of his former teammates, most notably the Maldini father and son at AC Milan.
