Digital First Ticketing Begins for Fall 2021

To enhance the game day experience and game day logistics, the Augustana University Athletic Department will transition to “digital first” ticketing beginning in the Fall of 2021. Augustana University recently partnered with HomeTown Ticketing as the new ticketing provider for all on-campus athletic events.

“We’re excited to provide a convenient and more efficient way for our fans and supporters to access their tickets,” Associate AD for Marketing and Communications David Primus said. “Fans will enjoy the flexibility offered with “digital first” ticketing, making management of their tickets easier while providing a safe entry experience.”

Season ticket holders will receive their tickets via email prior to the start of each season for football and will have the opportunity to present their tickets on their smartphones or print their tickets at home. Single game tickets to football, as well as all other ticketed athletic events, will be available to purchase online at or at the ticket window at each game. Single game tickets can be printed, texted, or emailed to fans at the time of purchase.

The new GoAugie mobile app, presented by CellOnly, will provide the easiest and most convenient way for fans to purchase their tickets. The app also features quick access to event schedules, rosters and team information, customizable push notifications, live and archived video, and more. The free app is available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play.

Digital tickets are scanned upon entry into each venue from a smartphone. Enhancing safety to minimize contact upon entry, digital tickets also give fans the ability to enjoy more control in the management of tickets. Nationwide, digital ticketing has increased significantly over the last several years including before the COVID-19 pandemic.

Why is Augustana Athletics making the switch to digital tickets?
Transitioning to digital tickets allows for the safest (contactless entry) and most flexible way to receive and manage tickets. Digital tickets increase the convenience of managing your tickets – access, forward, or sell tickets at any time when you’re on your mobile device. This move also reduces the risk of forgotten, lost or stolen tickets.

What is changing?
Typical paper season tickets will not be printed. Season tickets will be accessed solely on a digital basis via email. A print-at-home option will be available for fans.

How do digital tickets work?
Digital tickets work exactly the same as a printed ticket. Simply show the barcode on the ticket to the ticket staff at the gate to scan and gain admittance to the game.

After I purchase my tickets, when will I receive them?
Season tickets will be sent via email no later than one week prior to the first home football game. Single game tickets will be sent via email upon purchase.

Can I have multiple tickets for the same event on my phone?
Yes, you are able to swipe through your tickets on your phone at the venue if your entire party is present.

What if my entire party doesn’t arrive with me to the game?
If arriving at different times, you can easily transfer a ticket to each member of your party prior to arriving at the game.

Who can I transfer a ticket to?
Anyone with a valid email address or phone number (via text message).

What if my battery dies upon arriving at the game or I do not have an email address or smartphone?
