BULLS HEAD TO ORLANDO FOR UCF FALL INVITE

TAMPA, Fla., Nov. 4, 2021 – The University of South Florida men’s tennis team travels to Lake Nona, Fla., to participate in the UCF Fall Invitational. The Bulls will be one of five teams competing this weekend against opponents from UCF, FAU, Florida State, and Alabama on the USTA National Campus.

The Bulls are coming back from competition at the ITA Regional Championships hosted in Gainesville. After defeating two opponents in the qualifying singles round, Sophomore Manuel Goncalves (Porto, Portugal) advanced to the main draw. Five players went to the Round of 32 in the main draw, including No. 47 Chase Ferguson (Melbourne, Australia), who defeated FAU’s Gerad Escandell 6-0, 6-3. Sergio Gomez-Montesa advanced to Round of 16 of the consolation rounds after his 6-3, 3-6, 10-7 victory over FGCU’s Juan Lopez.

This weekend’s tournament features three days of singles and doubles play beginning Friday, Nov. 5.
