Overmars’ success at Ajax
Marc Overmars, 48, resigned at Ajax in early February after admitting to sending sexually harassing messages to other employees. The former Netherlands international has been in the role since 2012 and signed a new contract until 2026 shortly before leaving.

Jordi is ready to take the hot seat at Ajax.
Ajax chief executive Edwin van der Sar, 51, has taken over as director of football temporarily as the club looks for a new incumbent.
And the Amsterdam side have identified 48-year-old Jordi Cruyff as a leading candidate for the role in the summer. According to Spanish newspaper Marca, the son of legend Johan Cruyff is out of contract with Barcelona in June, so he will be ready to go to Ajax for free.
It is known that Jordi has worked for the Catalan giants as a sports consultant since last summer. Barca president Joan Laporta considers Jordi an indispensable part of coach Xavi’s assistant team. Barca are expected to offer him a new contract but interest from the Netherlands could lead him to make a difficult decision this summer.
Earlier, Overmars’ resignation came after Ajax management received numerous complaints from female employees that he had sent them inappropriate messages and sexually explicit photos.
