Advisor Roman Abramovich reassures Chelsea fans

The adviser of Roman Abramovich affirmed that the Russian tycoon is in no hurry to sell Chelsea after recent events.

Roman Abramovich announced the sale of Chelsea on Wednesday night after the outbreak of war in Ukraine. Rumors suggest that the Russian billionaire wants to sell the Blues quickly due to political pressure, but his adviser, Joe Ravitch insists there will be no rush.

 Abramovich is in no hurry to sell Chelsea.

“We’re in no hurry to do anything,” Ravitch told Reuters. “It is very important that Chelsea have the right owner to move the club forward.”

Ravitch, the co-founder of investment bank Raine Group LLC, has revealed more information about the impending deal.


It is believed that a confident US-Swiss consortium will complete a deal. An announcement could be made as early as Monday if talks go as smoothly as planned.

Reports claim Abramovich turned down an offer of £2.5 billion and offered a bid of at least £3 billion. While, he spent 140 million pounds to buy Chelsea 19 years ago.

The alliance is led by Hansjorg Wyss, a Swiss billionaire, and Todd Boehly, an American, who attempted to buy The Blues for $3 billion – around £2.25 billion – in 2019.

“Abramovich is looking to sell all his villas in England, he also wants to get out of Chelsea quickly,” Wyss revealed on Tuesday.

“I and three others received an offer to buy Chelsea from Abramovich on Tuesday. I have to wait 4-5 days from now (to make a decision). Abramovich is asking too much right now,”  Wyss concluded . again.
